London. January 1. As president of the Sir Arthur Pearson memorial fund. Lady Pearson appeals to the British dominions for aid for « permanent endowment of all charities for which Sir Arthur laboured during his lifetime. A special appeal made to editors of newspapers to publish an appeal, and if possible to open local subscription lists. Agents have been appointed in various dominions, to whom subscriptions should be remitted. The New Zealand agent is Mr, Clutha Mackenzie, Auckland.—(Reuter.)
