PRISONERS SENTENCED.
THE HASTINGS BURGLARIES. Wellington, Oct. 15. In the Supremo Court to-day the following sentences were imposed:— Andrew Michael Curtin, 17 years of age, and James Richard Cameron, 19 years of age, for breaking, entering and theft at Hastings, probation for three years; the sum of £7l odd to be restored to the firm from which it was stolen. Alfred James Gardiner, aged 20, receiving stolen moneys from, prisoner Curtin, six months probation. George Edwards, 21, Cecil Henry Edwards 21, George, Walter Edwards, 28, theft of 21 cases of petrol at Dannevirke, three years probation. Cecil Glen Rossister, 27, theft of 36 cases of poultry valued at £292, and forgery of orders for delivery, two years for theft and one month for forgery. Thomas Austin Griffiths, 22, breaking and entering and attempted rape, six months on first charge, two years on the second charge, and declared a habitual criminal.
