CEMENT ALLEGATIONS.
ROYAL COMMISSION’S DIRECTIONS. INQUIRY INTO BOARD OF TRADE’S ACTIONS. (Special to “Tribune.”) Parliament Buildings, Oct. 14. _Tho Royal Commission on cement is directed to inquire if the Board of Trade was guilty of impropriety in sanctioning a retail price, £9 13/6 per ton. Whether the companies took advantage of the shortage to charge an extortionate price. Whether the cement agreement of May last is in any way criminal or illegal, or was used to make prices excessively high. Whether tjio Board of Trade being unaware of tne agreement was lacking in its duty in failing to take action.
