AUSTRALIA AND BRADFORD. ‘ MR HUGHES ATTENDS CONFER- ' ENCE. J A BETTER UNDERSTANDING. . i (Received 18, 1.55 p.m.) London, Aug. 17. • Mr Hughes conferred with the executive of the Wool Federation privately. A statemem subsequently issued to the , Press states th»,t various matters affecting both the Bradford trade and wool producing in Australia were discussed. ■ It was felt that Mr Hughes had render- ■ ed a great service in stating-the posi- 1 tion of woolgrowers, but members ol the federation thought Mr Hughes had not previously realised the circumstances and problems which obtain here. Ono of the objects of the conference was to prove that the interests of tho growers land those of the buyers were insepar|ablc. The intention of tho conference [had been amply justified and resulted in a better understanding of each others ' difficulties. Both Mr Hughes and members left the conference with strong hopes of closer co-operation and good permanent results in the future.—(A. . and N.Z.)
