WAIPUKURAU SOLDIERS' REST.
_ . . — f That the Soldiers’ Rest Room in r Waipukurau is most highly appreciated | by the patients of the Pukeora Sanato- ( num, is evidence by the wonderfully improved grounds surrounding this building. Largely due to the energy of the committee controlling the Rest, ’ the secretary (Mr. Dowrick) ably . , assisted, combined with tho interest shown by the convalescent patients the ■ garden is excellently ’aid out and will later be a picture that will gratify the eye of every lover of flowers and nature. The grass and garden plots ; were laid out by Mr. C. Evans, landscape gardener of the sanatorium, and the work of digging and p’anting has 1 been done by the patients. The com- ' mittee and all interested heartily thank the following for their donations of roses, shrubs, seedling, flower plants ' and grass seed:—Messrs. T. Horton, I Walter Webb, J- N. Anderson and the Hawke’s Bay Farmers (Waipukurau branch). That the frontage of the Rest in the near future will be one of the sights of the town goes without saying.
