AUSTRALIA’S SEA 'PLANE.
SPEECHES AT LAUNCHING. • London, Aug. 12. General Seely, speaking at the launching of the first seaplane for the Australian naval aircraft, hazarded a conjecture that if there had been nc Imperial Conference there would have been no settlement of the Irish question. The spectacle of the Dominione participating as sister states in the Imperial crisis was an invaluable object Wesson, which appealed to the Irish leaders. Mr. Hunter (Agent-General foi Queensland) commented on the Govern meat’s foresight in organising seaplanes while other Dominions wen only thinking of them. Six seaplane: will be ready in September, each carrying three people, besides bombs, ma chine guns, ammunition and wireless and each will have a speed of 110 mile; an hour, fitted with Rolls-Royce engines. Mrs Hughes launched the ’plane which successfully flew over Southa p ton, carrying four people, includi General Seely and Mrs Coates.—( and N.Z.)
