Owing to Cardinal Boggiano’s criticisms as Archbishop of in which he declared the clergy were undisciplined, rebellious, and revolutionary almost to. a point of Bolshevism, and his attempt to right things, the < priests unanimously rose up against him ami the Catholic laity openly insulted and threatened him with violence in I the streets, finally demanding his recall.
