CARUSO ILL.

LAST SACRAMENTS ADMINISTERED. GREAT SINGER RALLIES. (Received 17, 12.45 p.m.) New York, Feb. 16. Signor Caruso is seriously ill, and the last sacraments have been administered. A later bulletin states that he rallied from a very serious relapse. His condition is still unsatisfactory, but somewhat improved. Caruso has been ailing since the breaking of a small bloodvessel in the throat some time ago. This was followed by an attack of pleurisy. He also fell downstairs from a dressing-room in the New York Opera House. His throat is also affected. —(Reuter.)
