ADVENTURE CUT SHORT.
TRIP TO THfTkERMADECS. Auckland,- Feb. 15. Two youths, the eldest 22 years of age, had an adventure cut short by the interposition of the police. They proposed to proceed to Kermadecs in the yacht Miz Pah, which the elder boy claimed to have purchased. He had, by the aid of a cheque book, obtained a large quantity of stores and provisions, which were sent to the wharf and placed in the care of the watchman, whom they paid 5/- an hour. Detectives relieved the watchman of his duty. At present the youths stand charged with uttering a cheque, by means of which benzine and oil was obtained.
