RUNNING AT LOSS.
TRANS-AUSTRALIAN RAILWAY. (Received 5, 8.40 a.m.) Melbourne, Jan. 3. The trans-continental railway, during the past year, was run at a loss of £42,640. The total loss to date on the line, which cost over £7,000,000, has been £746,000. —(A. and N.Z.)
