ST. MARY’S FLOWER SHOW. *A meeting of those interested in th'above was held on Tuesday afternoon the 20th. instant at the Vicarage. A i number of ladies representing different I parts of the district were present., J '.was decided to hold the show on Sej ft ember -Ith. 192(). The following sta ■ holders were duly appointed:—Tea am I supper, Mesdames Winlove and Gros venor; sweets. Miss French- meat Miss Hooper and Mrs. Broad: iak< stidl. Mrs. J. W. Harding; work stai and surprise packets. Mesdames Ru sell, Ellison, Allwood, Mitchell, W ngh and Miss Slprpin; Ilatuma goner stall of produce, etc., Mesdames J Hobson and Haldane; cut flowers. Mr. Sim and Mrs. Orr. It was decided .t--have a flower queen compclit'oo the arrangements for which were lei .in the hands of the organising seer, tary, Mrs. Stace. .Members presem were very enthusiastic and the propeers for an unusually successlul sho - this year are good. GOLF. The Waipukurau Gol( Club has been negotiating for some time in connei - tioir wit’u the engagement of a. qualified coach, and has been successful in secu» ing the services of Mr. J. C. Clem ments. This gentleman has a very hig' reputation both,as a coach and ; plaver, and should be a decisive factoin ‘raising the standard of local play.. .Mr. W. G. Paterson has received wore to the effect that Mr. Clements will ar live on Monday the 2oth in ? t, and n necessarv commence his duties the to' lowing day. The»club is progressive n all respects. Tue membership is iargand no doubt the services ol Air. Cle merits will tend to create even greatei enthusiasm among followers of tbi fa,-iinating game.
