RELIEF FORCE ENGAGED A SEVERE BATTLE. Delhi, July 19. The column which is endeavouring to relieve the garrison at Kumala encountered the enemy two thousand strong, four miles nortu-west of Rumaia. After a prolonged engagement and severe fighting, our gttacK was successful, the enemy being effectively bombed by aeroplanes and machine-gunned. The enemy suffered heavy casualties. — (Reuter).
