GOLD MEDALS AT SHOWS.
DO EXHIBITORS PREFER CASH ? Do exhibitors at A. and P. shows appreciate the gold medals? According to Mr. Howard Booth, a member of the Wairarapa P. and A. Society, they do not. He held that the gold medal business was out of date, and he would like to see the various societies cut them out. He was satisfied that if the money value of the medals ,was distributed in increased cash prizes itt l the classes exhibitors would appreciate it more. The fashions were changing, and how often did thiy see the holders of gold medals dangling them on their watch-chains as in the olden days. This showed that their value from an exhibitor’s point of view had depreciated
