WEDDING.

MARTIN—CORBOY

The marriage took place in St. Patrick’s Church, Palmerston North, on Wednesday last, of Mr, Harry Martin, eldest sou of Mrs. and the iate Mr. F. A. Martin, of Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, and Cathrine Bridget ‘ (Babs) Corboy, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Corboy, of Rieearton, Christchurch, and niece of Mrs. R Mullrooney, of Palmerston North. The church was prettily decorated by girl friends ot the bride, the effect being enhanced by tan presence of a floral wedding bell, which was suspended over The altar. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father McMabus, and during the Nuptial Mass the Pater Noster was sung by Mrs. E. J. Leydon. The bride’s gown was iemon georgette over char mouse, trimmed with gold roses and finished with a beautiful train of silver tissue over pale pink. Her bridal veil of hand-embroidered Brussells net (loaned by Mrs. E. J. Fitzgibbon) was fastened with sprays of orange blossoms and her shower bouquet was of cream chrysanthemums. The bride was given away by her cousin, Mr. E Kavanagh, of Palmerston North. The bridesmaids were Miss Kathleen Martin. sister of the bridegroom, and Mistf Peggy Lander, cousin of the bride. Miss Martin’s dress was of pale blue georgette, embroidered in pink and silver, and she wore a picture hat of black velvet. Miss Lander’s frock was of ivory georgette over satin, her hat being black beaver. Each carried' a bouquet. Mr. A. Sheerin, of Gisborne, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr. T. Lyons, of Waipawa. groomsman. The bridesmaids, received from the bridegroom a manicure set and a gold bangle respectively. After the ceremony nearly 200 guests from all. parts of the North and South Islands were entertained at a reception by Mrs. Mullrooney and the customary toasts were honoured. Mr. and Mrs. Martin left by motor car for the north on their honeymoonthe bride’s travelling toilet was a costume of amvthest cloth and' cerise velour hat, with which she wore a beautiful set ofrfox furs, the gift of the bridegroom. “
