NAPIER POLICE COURT.
TO-DAY’S (Before Mr. R. W. Dyer, S.M.)
Alleged Theft : AUen Beasley, on a charge pf theft of leggings at Wellington, was remanded' for a week. Accused asked for bail wJucfi'wa* allowed in one surety of £5O. Senior Sergeant Eales stated that if tne youth was allowed free he would be arrested and returned to the Waereroa Training Farm. Motor Offences W. G. Hay was fined £1 and costs 7/- for driving a car without lights.—E. Nicholls was similarly treated for having no lamp on the sidecar of his motor cycle.— J. A. Hodgson on a car offence, was fined a similar amount. —None of defendants appeared. —Mr. Grant appeared, for Mr. Davis, who pleaded guilty to having an -indistinct registration mark. A conviction with costs 7/- was entered. Noxious Weeds. —Hami Tutu, Angus : Puna, Manuka Taylor, Pira Anaru, Rakaitaira Nepata and Mita Mura were charged with failing to destroy noxious weeds. Puna and Taylor were each fined £5 with costs £1 7;6. Tutu was fined a similar amount, and Nepata was fined £7 and costs. Muru was fined £7. Tutu, who said the work was now done, was fined £l. Maintenance. —- Greta Seymour proceeded against Robert Seymour for separation, guardianship and maintenance. Separation was agreed to and maintenance at the rate of 30'- was ordered. ® Almao Case. —The case L. M. D; Almao v. G. D. Almao which was adjourned for hearing on the matter of maintenance, was called and legal argument ensued The case was adjourned for another week pending ‘suggestions from defendant as ic-abai Suancial arrangements.
