CHINA’S REFUSAL. (Received 29, 9.15 a.m.) Tokio, May 27. The War Office has received the Chinese answer tq Japan’s offer regarding Shantung. The answer is considered a refusal. It is expected the status, quo will be permitted to continue.— (A. and N.Z.)
