LABOUR AND THE ROYAL VISIT.

DIFFERENCE 0F OPINION IN CHRISTCHURCH. Christchurch, May 11. There is a division of opinion among official Labour representatives in Christchurch as to whether they will attend any of the receptions to the Prince during his visit to the city. The Labour Representation Committee recently issued an anti-monarchial manifesto calling on its members to take no part in the reception. Some of the Labour men/ who occupy public positions will fall into line, but others are a little uncertain about the matter. CHALLENGE TO MR. FRASER. REPEATED BY MR. FOX. Wellington, May IlMr. John Fox, whose challenge to Mr. Peter Fraser to resign the Wellington Central seat and recontest it with him was declined, has again written to Mr. Fraser, saying that the challenge still stands. He suggests it is Mr. Fraser’s duty both to himself and this electorate to test the feelings of the electors regarding his attitude towards the Prince’s visit.
