PALMERSTON N. MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Palmerston N., Feb. 9. At the Magistrate’s Court Mr. Stout, S.M., convicted without a fine, K. J. Hall, lorry driver, for crossing the railway line when the engine was approaching. Hall said the view was obstructed by the railway sheds. The Magistrate said he thought it was about time the Department installed warning bells at crossings. Jerasmus Gambitses, a fish merchant of Feilding, was committed for trial on a charge that at Palmerston North, on December 7th., 1919. knowing a bank note to bo forged, he did cause Iris Stanley to act upon same as if it was genuine. The forged note was one oi a number of National Bank notes.
