TAKAPAU.

(Own Correspondent). A meeting of the Hawke’s Bay War Relief Association, Takapau branch, was held on Tuesday evening. Present; Messrs C.' H. St. Hill (chairman); W. Cuthbertson, A. "W. Cook, J. Caughley and J. W. Cato. An apology was received from Mr. E. F. Stubbs, who was unable to be present. Considerable correspondence was received from Patriotic Associations and various departments. A letter was received from the Hon. D. H. Guthrie, Minister for Lands, re better settlement conditions for the returned men on the Watea block. A number of applications were, received and dealt with. Circular letters in reference to totally and partially disabled were received from the South Canterbury Association, H.B. War Relief Association and from the Advisory Board, Wellington. The suggestions were discussed and .it was decided to forward the branch’s suggestions to the H-B- Executive.
