THE AUSTRALASIAN CONFERENCE. i (Received 5, 11.40 a.m.) Sydney, Feb. 5. At the Athletic Conference, on the sub-committee’s report upon the proposed programmes for the future Australasian Championships, Mr. Parkinson (Victoria) moved: “That the Board of Control take a mail vote recommending for confirmation by each affiliated association on the alteration of the programme providing for (1) the abolition of the one anti three mile walks, to be substituted by a two mile race, (2) omission of hammer throwing, (3) that the 440 yards hurdles be over 3ft. instead of 3ft. 6in. obstacles; (4) that discus and javelin throws be added to the programme.”—The resolution was adopted. The report of the sub-committee appointed to revise rules to bring them into line with the International Olympic Federation and for future conduct of athletic events, was adopted.—(A. and N.Z.)
