WEDDING.

MATTHEWS—GREEN. An exceedingly pretty and interesting wedding was celebrated, m the Sacred Heart Church, Hastings this afternoon, when R® v - Mahoney united in wedlopk, Miss Louisa Green, third daughter or Mrs. M. A. McHardy, of Hastings, with Mr. Edward Matthews, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. Matthews,’ also of Hastings. The bride, who was given away by Mr. C. E. rauumer, looked charming in a crepe ae chene dress, relieved in georgette trimmings, with charmeuse tram, finished with pearl, ornaments. She wore a veil of Limerick lace and carried a beautiful bouquet of carnations. „ , She was attended by Miss Kathleen Green (sister of the bride) daintily attired in crepe de chene, relieved in primrose ge. or ß wnn hat to match, and Miss Florence Matthews (sister of the bridegroom) prettily dressed in sax blue and crepe de chene, with hat. to match. Both bridesmaids carried handsome bouquets of carnations. Messrs Frederick King Jnr., and William Green discharged the duties of best man and groomsman respectively. . ... At the conclusion of tne ceremony a reception was held at tue residence of the mother of the bride, who received her guests, dressed in black charmeuse., and entertained them most hospitably. The health of the newly-wedded pair was toasted in bumpers, and they received the congratulations of their many friends, as well as their sincere good wishes for their future health, happiness and prosperity. , r . Subsequently, Mr. and Mrs. Matthews left by motor car for Rotorua and Auckland, on their honeys moon, the bride wearing as a goijigaway dress, a navy gaberdine costume, with leghorn hat, relieved m pink. The presents received by the young couple were numerous and costly, testifying to the high esteem in which they are held.

KILKENNY—LAWTON.

An exceptionally pretty wedding was celebrated at the Taradale Catholic Church this morning, when Rev. Father Hickson united in matrimony Miss K. Lawton, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Lawton, of Taradale, and Mr. W. Kilkenny, of Pakowhai, son of Mr. .W. Kilkenny, of Puketapu. The bride, who was attended by Misses L. and A. Lawton (sisters of the bride) looked charming in a white georgette and crepe de chene dress, embossed with pink beads and real lace. She wore the orthodox wreath and vwl and carried a shower bouquet of pale pink and white flowers. The two flower girls were Misses Burgess and McCarthy. The best man was Mr. P. Lawton and the groomsman Mr. Murnane. Miss Murnane played the Wedding March and nuptual mass was celebrated. At the conclusion of the ceremony the wedding breakfast was held at the residence of the bride’s parents.
