HUGE BANKING TURNOVER.
DEMAND FOR INCREASED ACCOMMODATION. (Received 5, 9.35 a.m.) London, Jan. 1. The bankers' clearing house operations in 1919 aggregated £28,415,000.000. an increase of £7,217,000,000 over 1918, surpassing all t words. The high cost of raw materials and increased price of production consequent on greater demand for banking accommodation largely accounts for the greater turnover. — (Reuter.)
