Sinn Fein Folly.
DEPLORED BY MR. DILLON. EFFECTIVE METHODS DISCARDED. FOR MAD WARFARE. UNITED PARTY NEEDED. [By Cable.—Press Association.— Copyright.l London, Jan. 2. ■ The Blackrock Council carried a resolution calling on Messrs Dillon and Devlin and other Nationalists to reorganise the National**! forces. Mr. Dillon, in replying, says taat in view of the result of last election and the infamous character of the present Government of Ireland, he has not felt free to take a prominent part in reorganising Ireland on constitutional lines. Commenting on the Sinn Fein policy, Mr. Dillon deplored the throning away of the most effective weapon, an independent, United party in the House of Commons, and deplored declaring war against the British Empire when Ireland had’no means of carrying it on in a civilised and decent-fashion. It was foolish in the extreme. —(A. and N.Z.) THE LIMERICK P.O. RAID. SYSTEMATIC HOLD UP. J an. 2. The Limerick raiders arrived on bicycles. They picketed the approaches to the Central Post Office and cut the telephones. _ They then divided into parties, going to the sorting room and other department holding up the Post Office officials with pistols, while the leaders seized the old age pensions, which were chiefly in silver Mid ready for payment. A clerk with the key of a safe containing £l5OO had just left and the raiders were unable to break open the safe.— (A. and N.Z.)
