Total for four wicketsl4B Auckland, Jan. 2. The Plunket Shield Match was begun at Eden Park this morning. The weather was fine though there was a sprinkle of rain before play started. Canterbury won the toss and elected to bat. Patrick and Blunt made 58 between them before Patrick was caught in the slips for 39- Gray and Sandman went cheap- Reefe, the Canterbury captain went in fifth and compiled 33 before 1# lost the wicket. Blunt, who had made 60 without giving any chances, was in with Thomas at the luncheon adjournment when the score was 148 for four wickets.
