At a meeting of St. .Peter’s vestry held on Monday it was reported that a legacy of £2OO had been received from the estate of the lato Lizzie Rathbone. It was decided to apply £IUU of this sum towards the extinction of tne vicarage debt and £IUO towards additional accommodation at the Sunday School. Tne vestry were also advised that the gift of an American organ cosling about £lOO had been made by Mr. ». N. Rathbone. A hearty vote < f thanks was accorded the trustees tor tiie legacy and Mr. Rathbone for the gift of the organ. It was decided to send a letter of thanks to -Mr. John A. McLean, Havelock, tor the gift of a carved book rest lor use on ttie altar of St. Peter's Church. The meeting decided to invito subscriptions towards the cost of a brass tablet for the church in memory of those who laid down their lives in the war. The annual meeting was arranged for Thursday next.
