CONCILIATION COUNCIL.
Christchurch, May 2.
In the taxi-drivers’ dispute a settlement has been arrived at. Wages are fixed at £3 10/-, an increase of 12/6 on the present rate. The hours remain as at present, viz., 60 a short week, and 70 long week, or ten hours a day. Overtime to be fixed at 1/6 per hour, instead of 1/2 in the present award.
