THE MODERN HEATER.
j A compact, economical, very speedy and easily controlled system of heating is embodied m “The Challenge” heating plant, which is at present on working exhibition at the oilico of the agent, Mr. H. B. Tennant, Queen street. Hastings. The cold water is fed, continuously, if so required, by a pipe into a perpendicular, cylindrical water jacket, heated, through me column, from a small furnace at the base, which brings the water to boiling point and delivers it into a reservoir, ready for instant use, in 9.J minutes from the moment the turnacc is started and, thereafter a continuous supply of boiling waler is available whilst tiie heat is maintained, 'lhe system, as demonstrated by the many testimonials received, has been most successful for househo.d supply —washtubs. kitchens, scuileries, sinks, baths or bed rooms, and it is claimed that, as a dairy cleansing apparatus, its installation eliminates 95 pm’ cent ot the milk troubles. H supplies boiling water, or water at any temperature, to troughs, and, under pressure, to spraying nozzles for washing miik cans, separator and milking ma- j chine parts. Another great md- I vantage is that the time wasted in cleaning all these utensils l>y band is eliminated, because the water jet. forced at high pressure does all inis work much more emciently, and in a fraction of the lime, whilst tne boil- j ing water is ready, in unlimited quan- I lilies, at any or ad hours oi the day.! at tiie expense of a shilling’s north of coke in\ twelve hours. Lbe furnace also acts as a destructor and any rubbish that will burn will serve as a fuel. A hot water and steam service for ’ hotels and restaurants is also on show and, on tne basis ot making use of aii beat, which in ordinary circumstances is simply wasted, a continuous supply of steam and boiling water, lor cooking and cleansing, is available f<»’ hotels, restaurants, boarding sc’.ioois or similar institutions, in town or country, the only essential being an adequate supply or cold water, whither' it be drawn from tanks, streams or high pressure town . service . “The , Challenge” heater is simple in its construction, easy to manage, low in I cost of upkeep, and is a great time i and labour saver, so that those in- ! terested. and they should number a ! great many, would' be amply repaid by f calling on Mr. Tennant, Queen street. | Hastings, who will be very pleased to give demollstrations.
