A FATHER’S EXPLANATION.
Ito the editor. J Sir,—Following on the letter of Mr. Burfield in reference to the death of my son, Arnold Kitt. I am not complaining of any neglect or otherwise, by the doctors at the Hastings Racecourse Hospital. At the time of his decease I was busily engaged assisting to nurse my wife and son who were very ill with influenza at the time. I have to thank Mr. Burfield for his kindness and also to thank Mr. Rosenburg for first letting me know hoiv ill he was, and the friends who assisted. In reference to the care bestowed upon him by others, I have always been able and willing to give my family in sickness and health all they require in the way of nourishment and necessities and 1 am not inclined to think'my son Arnold was neglected, and believe that everything was done that could be done. —I am. etc., JOHN' KITT. Maraekakaho road, Hastings, 2/12/18. f Although Mr. Barfield’s letter appeared in another paper, Mr. Kitt is very anxious this one should be i published in the ‘ Tribune.”—Ed. I
