(Own Correspondent,). Mr. W. Yaj-dley, who recently sold out his farm at‘Burnside, has been revisiting Taka-pan during the week. Dr Irwin and Nurse Jenkyli tilled the Takawiu School on Wednesdav. A fair proportion of the children showed that dental attention was necessary. A sum of Lil 14'8 has been received from Ashley Clinton for the iakapau Copper Trail and the local committee wishes to gratefully acknowledge the handsome donation. A sum of £2 has been forwarded bv the Takanau School children to the Mayoress of Wellington for Christmas puddings for soldiers at the front. , Mrs. W. Jackson, wno recently went to Wellington to- see her naug.iter. Nurse Jackson, who is taking up militarv nursing oterseas, has had the misfortune to have her youngest srn Arthur laid up m hospital ill \VeUmgton with scarlet fever.
