THE STEAMER PENISTONE.

(Received 17, 9.25 a.m.) New York, August 16. Captain David Evans, of the British steamer Penistone, which was torpedoed and sunk, (cabled yesterday) was held prisoner on the Üboat. The survivors landed exhausted and were barely able to speak. The steamer’s engineer was killer by the explosion of the torpedo.—(A. and N.Z.)
