A Reuter’s cable to-day states that reports from Lorenzo Marques tell of great floods in Imbambane. Thirty inches of rain fell in five days. Sugar plantations were flooded in Inutamba Valley with severe losses. — Press Association.
Asked by a “Sun” reporter on Saturday whether the finding of the Court of Inquiry into the charges made by Dr. Thacker, M.P., was yet available, Sir James Allen (Minister of Defence), said that he had received the finding, but had referred it back for the answering of a certain question. It had not yet been returned to him. He anticipated that it should be available for publication at an early date. The finding, he added, had not been considered bv Cabinet.
Replying to a deputation the Hon. T. Wilford said he had been astounded at what he had seen . in the Nelson apple-growing district. Although he had "'previously _ read about them, he had no idea of the district’s potentialities. Members of Parliament should see what was being done.— Press Association. Prisoners have been instructed to inform fru-nds aceordinglv. Packets addressed to a branch or a- working camp or work place instead of to a parent camp as destination will be returned. Packets for prisoners in hospitals ar? not affected bv this regulation. Packets without destination are permissible.
