SOME PERSONAL NOTES.
Mrs, M. A. Blair, of Southampton street, Hastings, has been advised by cable that her son. Driver A. D. Blair, has been wounded and admit-j ted to Hospital in France. Cable advice has been received | that Rifleman Alex A. Lean has been i transferred from AValtoit-on-Thames> Hospital, to the }lilitary‘Hospital, | Epsom, on October 27. 1 Mrs. A. Luff, Riverslea mad, Hastings. has received a cable to say! that her son, Corporal AV. A. R. | Luff, has been re-admitted to hospital suffering from old gun-shot wound in the leg. Mrs. M. Corkery, of Market street Hastings, has received cable advice that- her son, Corporal J. T. Corkery who was wounded in France, was admitted to the Military Hospital, Lewisham, England, on October < 27th. Corporal Corkery, who left with the Main Body, was also wounded at Gallipoli. Rifleman Harry Shellam, who left with the 15th Reinforcements, has according to advice received by his mother, Mrs A. G. Shellam, Napier, been awarded the Croix de Guerre, for bravery specially noticed by a commander of the First French Army. Rifleman Shellam was recently wounded. Mr. Thos. Horton, nurseryman, of Pakowhai road, has just received! word that his son Charlie has been ■ wounded and is now in hospital ins France. He left with the Main Body j for Egypt and saw service at Galli-I poli where he was slightly wounded.! He was also invalided into hospital i ! at Malta, suffering from rheumatism. ( |He left Egypt with the Main Body 1 ! for France and has seen a good deal'] |of fighting. It is to be hoped he jwill make a speedy recovery.
