HASTINGS HOMING CLUB.

A race was flown by the Hastings Homing Club last Saturday from Parnassus, a distance of 288 miles. This race proved a good test for the competing birds and resulted in a win for G. L. Rees’ “Commonwealth” which arrived five minutes before R. Sullivan’s “Alert,” which goes to show that the race was a good one and well fought out to a right finish. Results: G. L. Rees’ “Commonwealth” 1, R. Sullivan’s “Alert” 2, G. L. Rees’ “Smoke” 3. The winner was bred by Messrs Alexander and Wellwood, and is a brother to the well-known “Aotea.” “Alert” was bred by its owner and reflects great credit on its loft.
