GRAfXD NATIONAL MEETING. SECOND DAY.
Sockburn, Aug. 18. The Grand National meeting was concluded to-day in beautiful weather. Thg attendance is again good. Besults:—
Aylesbury Steeples.—Kaupokonui 1, Wellwood S, Golden Butterfly 3. All started. Bodenbam led for nearly two miles when he ran off, Stone; ginger following him. Kaupokonui then took charge to the last fence and won by a length. Time, smin. 14s ecs-
Redcliffes Handicap.—Euripos 1, Lion 2, John Reilly 3. Scratched: Grand Idea, Hythread, Ascalaphus, Henriette and Bloomine. Euripos went to the front at the distance and won by two lengths. Time, Imin. 31 l-ss*ecs.
August Handicap. —Disdainful 1, Miss Deval 2 ? Charley 3. Scratched : Sannsien, Kilteis, hilkee and Rewanga. Disdainful was in front to the foot of the straight and won comfortably by three lengths, Charley a length away. Black Ada next. Beaufort Steeples Sandy Paul I, St. Elmn 2, Nita 3. Time 5 6.3-5 Spreyton Hurdles:— Miss Sation 1. Compulsion 2, San Sebastion 3. Time 3 22.1-5.
