NEW ZEALANDERS DECORATED.
[Australian and n.z. cable ass’n-J (Received 17, 11.30 a.m.) London, Aug. 16. The Distinguished Service Order has been awarded to the following New Zealanders:— Colonel R. C. Alien, who at a critical moment under great personal risk rallied a number of men of another unit who were withdrawing under a barrage and J£® ve “*® d ® further retyrcpient. Although severely wounded he continued to give instructions for the continuance of the fight. . , Major A. Digby-Smith, who although severely wounded and passed led a company to its objective and remained with it until the situation was secure. Major. R. D. Hardie, who, when wounded in the eye, led his men Through a heavy barrage to positions and continued with great skill and courage to direct the gunfire and remained, with the men throughout the action. Colonel D. J. McGann, who, at a great risk successfully evacuated the wounded during our heavy offen**Captain J. A. Sommerville, who showed fine leadership in an attack £nd capture of two field guns.
Colonel A. Wintervans, who exhibited great coolness and energy in consolidating the capture of a position. The Bar to the Military Cross has been awarded to Captain P. G. Parkes for establishing strong posts in his unprotected flank, thus saving the advanced waves from being cut off.

Johnson. Private A. J. Steadman. Private R. J. Ure. Lance-Corporal W. C. Hanna. Corporal E. A. Tuke. Private G. N. Hart. Private A. E. Johnson. Corporal W. B. Overden. Private N. Knight.
