TAKAPAU PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE.
(Own Correspondent). A meeting of the Takapau Patriotic Committee was held in the Public Library on Monday evening. The following members were present:—Messrs G. O. Taylor (presiding). J. Maudsley. A. E. Anstice, W Cuthbertson. J. Caughley (hon. sec) J. Horne, and Rev. 11. Collier. A considerable amount of business in connection with returned soldiers applications was transacted. It- was decided to procure for the use of the secretary the new military paper, which is to be published chronicling the doings of the N.Z.E.F. A letter was received from hte Minister of Internal Affairs, asking for extended efforts in aid of the poor and destitute people of Belgium. It was decided to support the movement to relieve the Belgians. who must suffer much during the winter months, and endeavour to raise a generous subscription from the district. Correspondence from Napier. Hastings, Dannevirkc. Wainawa and Waipukurau- branches of the H.B. War Relief Association was dealt with and the usual routine business transacted.
