TO-NIGHT'S PICTURES.

King's Theatre. Hastings.—The chief attraction on the programme which will be screened for the second time-to-night is an alluring story of the fateful influence of heredity, entitled “ The Sins of the Mothers.” This is a picture-play with a mighty appeal and a lesson that many women should profit by. Anita Stowart, Vitagraph’s charming actress, enacts the girl whose inherited taint even a convent cannot quell, wliile Earle Williams is the husband whose fight for his honour and his wife ended so tragically. The other pictures on the list include two Keystone comedies, “ The Fatal Taxi-cab ” and “A Bathhouse Blunder,” also a fine war topical and a beautiful scenic.

Princess Theatre, Hastings.—A good house greeted the first screening of the current programme, a special feature of which is the photo-play adaption of “ I’m on my Way to Mandalay.” Mr. F. S. Thomas’ delightful rendering of the song during the screening was much" appreciated and encored by the audience. The ninth of the popular “ Stingaree ” stories, which increase in interest as the bushranger nears the close of his adventurous career, is also shown. This episode is entitled The Villain Worshipper,” and is full of interest and excitement. The comedy element on the list is well supplied by “ The Village Vampire,” a 2000tt Triangle tale of fun, and. another big laugh-raiser entitled “An Awful Night.” ■
