MOTOR BOAT RESERVE. RECRUITING INNEW ZEALAND Wellington, Aug. 11. The Hon. James Allen, discussing the activity of Captain A. Whitney in connection with the enrolling of men for the Motor Boat Reserve, stated that it was undesirable a work of this kind, which is obviously the work of Government, should be undertaken by an individual. No action will be taken until the arrival of the Committee appointed by the Admiralty. When definite information has been received, the Government will invite applications from those who desire to be placed on the register. [ln a paragraph published on Tuesday last it was stated that the Jommittee were due to leave Vancouver for N.Z. three weeks from then.]
