inquest concluded

The inquest touching the death of Edward '.'.lman, who died by a wound in the throat on Monday. 19th inst., was concluded at the Napier Courthouse yesterday afternoon, before Mr. S. E. McCarthy, coroner. . Thomas Farrell, cook on the Kintona. said that he knew deceased, having lived with him at the bach for two weeks before his boat left, on 1 Sunday-, 18th inst. He had gone to the bach at middav, to co.lect a few articles, and to bid Allman good-bye. Deceased seemed a litt.e worried but when questioned, said it was on account of losing his mate. He was well connected, and had iatelv received news of his mother's death. Often saw him perusing the contents of a letter prior to burning it, which he said was just a family matter. Deceased was a man who shaved and a.wavs kept a fazor. Dr. Johnson said he examined the body of deceased at the morgue iu June 21st. He described the nature of the wound which, lei .-aid. was no doubt self-mtlicted. George Foster.
