In the other hran<he- the service there aie plenty of fit men waiting for places m futuie quotas from thia district.

Auckland’s quota of the Eighteenth Reinforcements proceed south by train to-day. For city and country they total 593. including N.C.O.'s for Twentieth Reinforcements. * OUR SAILOR' HEROES. NAVY LEAGUE ACKNOWLEDGMENTS. The joint treasurers of the NavyLeague, Messrs. T. J. Stopford and J. R. Crerar. acknowledge with thanga the following subscriptions to the sailors’ Dependants’ Fund: — £ s. d.
TO THOSE WHO HAVE. We are asked by Mr. George Bell et Hastings to publish the fol.owing lines of appeal for funds for the relief of the widows and orphans of the men in the Skager Rak Battle. He says he things the importance of the victory is not sufficiently estimated by the majority of people in New Zealand: — Help, help, those berett of Husbands — Fathers. For us their parents and their husbands died.
