HASTINGS STARR-BOWKETT BUILDING SOCIETY
The annual general meeting of the above society .will be held in the Old Library, Hastings, on Tuesday, August 17th, when appropriations by sale will be held in Nos. 1,2, and 3 Issues of ;£"s(’o each. Nos. 2 and 3 Issues will be available in December and No. 1 Issue in January, 1916. The thirteenth annual report, which reads as follows, will be submitted :—
In all thirteen appropriations were held, five in No. 1 Issue, three byballot and two by sale ; three in the No. 2 Issue, two by ballot and one by sale and five in’the No. 3 Issue, three bv ballot and two by sale. The sales in the No. 3 Issue again realised £46 per centum, thereby maintaining the record’ established the previous year. . | The total number of shares remaining on the register in the No. 1 Issue is .319, of which 208 have received appropriations, leaving 111 still to receive appropriations. The holders of 35 shares in this Issue having elected to discontinue the payment of subscriptions, the £3025 8,6 standing to the credit of the profit and loss account is equivalent to £lO 10/Ojj per share. The net profit earned per share during the past vear is £2 10 OJ, which is more than double the profit earned per share during anv previous year. Tn the No. 2 Issue the total numtier of shares remaining on the register is 339. of which 151 have received appropriations, leaving 188 still to receive appropriat ions. In this Issue , the holders of 3(1 shares have elected to discontinue tire payment of subscriptions.' The £1827 13.2 standing to the credit of the profit and loss account is equivalent to £5 15/0j per share. The net profit earned per share during the past year is 17/4J. In the No. 3 Issue the total number of shares remaining' cn the register is 702. Of these 49 shares have received appropriations. The £753 (18 standing to the credit of the profit and loss account is equivalent to £1 I 3j per share. The net profit earned per share during the past year is 1 i,7j. The appropriations since the inception of the society have been £27.190 by ballot, free of interest, and £26.900 by sale, ictal £51.00(1. The three retiring directors are , Messrs. W. Hart M. Johnson and J. D. Rivers. Air. J. D. Rivers wishes ,to retire from the directorate, and ! Mr. T. Styles, together with Messrs, j AV. Hart and M. Johnson, being the only nominations received, xvill be ‘ duiv elected.
