Replying to a question yesterday, Mr. Massex said that butter was coming in freely now. and he thought it would soon be possible for them to remove the embargo upon the export altogether. His correspondence went to shoxv that, all the factories in the Auckland province and most of those in the Taranaki province have commenced operations, although the supply of milk is very small now as compared with what it will be in two or three months. He addexl that the embargo had been rigidly enforced. A few days ago he had allowed a small shipment to leave Auckland on condition that the price in Auckland was reduced, and
the price was reducert.
