The Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society met yesterday. -Mr. G. R. Beamish presiding over a large atienance of members. Correspondence was (limit with as follows: — Napier Technical College, thanks for annual donation. —Received. W. P. Archibald, thanks tor reelection as the society’s representative on the committee of the New Zealand Draught Horse Stud Book Association.—Received. Levin and Co., stating that they would take charge of the sheep shearing competition at the next show. —To be thanked. Clydesdale Horse Society of Now Zealand, asking for the society to

affiliate with them. —Received. The H.B. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals drew attention to the fact that very often people sent sheep to the auction yards when near lambing, ami that at times the lambing occurred in the yards.—Referred I<> the Auctioneers' Associat imi. The Belgian Refugee Food Fund, England, asked for donations to their fund. —Mr. J. H. Coleman objected to subscribing to funds out of New Zealand. He thought all money should be subscribed through the Town Clerk and reach Home in that wax.-—This it was decided to do. Accounts amounting to X'l2 5 7 were passed for payment.
