ASSASSINS EXECUTED. Antwerp. Sept. 21. A Belgian court martial convicted a German infantryman of killing a peasant woman with his bayonet, and another of having stolen jewellery in his possession. A Belgian mother, nursing a wounded soldier, writes the following open letter to the Kaiserin : “Your son Joachim, commanding an armed horde devoted to rapine, murder and bestial horrors, earns the Iron Cross amidst our tears which will dry, and amidst our ruins which we will restore. Thank God. we can clasp our sons to our breasts knowing they are soldiers and not assassins.” IMMIGRATION NOT APPROVED Antwerp, Sept. 24. The Belgian Government has thanked Mr. Holman (Premier of New South Wales) for his offer r.o receive refugees, out is unable tr accept it. When the war is at an end every man, woman and child, will be needed to repair the awful wastage of the war. HUGE SIEGE GUNS. (Received 26, 9.6 a.m.) London, Sept. 25. A gentleman travelling in Belgium describes two big Gorman 52 centimeter (20.865 inches) siege guns. He states that 26 traction engines are required to haul each of them. DISGRACE TO THE GERMANS (Received 26, 12.20 p.m.) Antwerp, Sept. 25. Herr Libknecht. in an interview after the tour, declared that he would inform his compatriots of the conditions of Belgian towns, which were a disgrace to the Germans.
