The famous tapestries m the nave of Reims Cathedral were removed before its destruction. . An eve-witness describes Reims Cathedral as not completely gutted. It may be possible to restore the main features of its outline. The official German version is that since the 2t)th the white flag hoisted on the spire of the Cathedral was respected by their artillery.
