The “Frankfurter Zeitung,” in an article says: “These are our critical days. Every competent judge knew our enemies wotdd not be easy to overcome, and that we have to deal with capable, brave opponents.” The remainder of the article draws a gloomy' picture, and discusses peace prospects. REVOLT AGAINST PRUSSIANISM. London, Sept. 22. An impartial observer writes that the enthusiasm for war in Berlin is still very strong, though an undercurrent of revolt against Prussianism and indignation against the Kaiser is gradually becoming perceptible in the larger towns. WAR LOAN SUBSCRIBED UNDER FALSE PRETENCES. (Received 24, 9.0 a.m.) London, Sep.t 22. British ladies from Germany state that the war loan has been subscribed. even servants giving their savings, being promised the money should be returned with interest of 5 per cent, from the French indemnity. A GERMAN APPEAL TO THE CIVILISED WORLD. PRUSSIA’S DOMINATION MUST BE CRUSHED. (Received 24, 9.0 a.m.) London, Sept. 23. The German Humanity League has issued an appeal to the civilised world from Rotterdam, wherein it states that the inevitable end of the war must be the deposition of the despot whose true aims and character are nakedly revealed. It says : — “As men passionately devoted to the Fatherland, we owe as our bounden dutv that every man caring for the welfare of mankind should join hands in arresting the Kaiser and the men around him, whojtre responsible for the appalling crimes of the last five weeks. The lasting interest of the German wage-earner can only be served ( by the victory of the Allies. Prussia’s' domination of Germany must be crushed and swept away forever.
