HOTEL TRAGEDY.
AN INFATUATED CHAUFFEUR. [PRESS ASSOCIATION COPYRIGHT, j (Received 22, 12.10 p.m.) Alelbourne, Sept. 22. Hugh Brown, a chauffeur, attempted to shoot Airs. Frances Jefferson, licensee of the Rifle Brigade Hotel. He missed his mark and a barmaid named Foley rushed to her assist ance. Brown, mistaking her for Airs. Jefferson, fired and killed her, and then committed suicide. Brown was a married man. It. is believed that he was infatuat eil with Airs. Jefferson. Yesterday he enlisted in the Ex peditionary Force as a motor trans port driver.
