Ottawa. Sept. 19. The steamer Lingan collided with the steamer Montmagny on the St. Lawrence in a fog. The Montmagny san-;, fourteen of her crew being missing.

(Received 21, 10.25 a.m.) New York, Sept. 20.

Steamer Francis Leggett foundered in the gale on Friday. Eeventy persons were drowned, including 51 passengers. There were only two survivors.
