AN ITALIAN CONTINGENT. TO FIGHT FOR THE ALLIES. (Received 21. 8.40 a.m.) Paris, Aug. 20. A thousand Italian volunteers fully armed, have arrived from America under Commander Ricciotti and Guiseppe Garibaldi and have offered their services to the Allies. A AVAR OF~REVANCHE. DELIVERY NOAV AT HAND. (Received 21, 8.-15 a.m.) Constantinople Aug. 20. At the annual service for the repose of the souls of the Frenchmen who fell in the Crimea, the French Ambassador said: 'The prese.nt war is a war of revanche. The time is now at hand for the delivery of my compatriots, bowed for nearly half a century under a foreign yoke.” The speech was greeted with' cheers for the Allies and Italy. PARIS NOTES. * Paris, Aug. 20. M. Poincare promoted M. Caillaux from sergeant to second-lieu-tenant. The national tobacco factories at Hille. Nancy, Chateauroux and Pant in are working day and night to keep the troops supplied with tobacco.
