At the annual meeting; of the Australian Jockey Club the report showed that the revenue was £165,066 and the expenditure £178,718. Last season £87,120 was distributed in prizes and added money, and in the current year £BO,OOO will be spent. WANGANUI JOCKEY CLUB. SPRING MEETING TO BE HELD. Wangnaui, Aug. 19. A committee of the Wanganui Jockey Club to-night reconsidered its decision to abandon the spring meeting and to devote the whole ot the profits to the war fund. Nominations were fixed to close on August 31st. The club’s previous decision was not influenced by financial considerations but simply by the fact that a jollification seemed out of place in time of war.
